Wireless Networking Instructional Module As part of ETEC 603, my team designed an instructional module on wireless network. This included in-depth information on the different components required to make a wireless network and hook it up properly. The small group testing was a great success, as evidenced by the data results.

Google Workshop My teammate and I designed a hands-on workshop for College of Education staff, instructors and students. The workshop was a great success and the attendees received a ton of information on many of Google's free online components, for example, Google Docs, an online word processing tool that can be shared by others for group editing, and Google Spredsheets, an online spreadsheet.

Flash Tutorial As part of the class on Adult Learning, I created a tutorial for students to follow to learn more about how to use the basics of Macromedia Flash. This tutorial teaches the user to create an eCard to send to a friend. This tutorial has been very successful and has been used by a number or teachers and students. Dr. Yamashita, the instructor, has asked me to return to classes to show this tutorial as an example for her current students.

Learning the Characteristics of the Slope of a Line

A (Audience): The Algebra 1 student (8th – 10th graders)

B (Behavior): will be able to determine the characteristics of the slope of an equation

C (Condition): given five random equations in slope-intercept form

D (Degree): with 80% accuracy.

(In this lesson, I indicate that I would like 80% accuracy, this would depend on your target audience. Obviously, in a perfect world, you would want all students to achieve it 100% of the time.)

This project was designed for my ETEC 602 (Teaching/Training Technologies) class. We were to design a lesson plan and address all the aspects of Instructional Design.

Collaborative Art Project

In ETEC 630 (Telecollaboration), I worked with another graduate student to design the online collaborative project. This collaborative venture was based on an idea that my partner came up with from something called "Exquisite Corpse". We worked as a team to add in the content and design the pages. I was responsible for the design of the site, navigation and the little Flash animation on the home page. My partner was in charge of the design of the instructional pages on how to draw the art. All other pages were designed and written collaboratively between us.

In this project, students work on one drawing across the internet each taking one-fourth of the drawing. In the end, the four pieces are combined to form one art design. Click here to go to the site and see some samples of work that was created.
